Food: 5/5. Actually, food is very good. Usually walk in for food pickup rather than using the delivery services (cost effective). Service 4/5. If not too busy, it is good. Usually, one person is at the front to take order. Ambiance: 4/5 Interior is very clean and tidy. ** Also, the new owner and management recently changed. The name has been changed as well as hours of operation.

New Owners - been open for 3 weeks as of this posting (2/2/2024) under new name Banh Mi Express. Egg rolls comes with garnish and fish sauce which is nice. Compared to previous owners, each egg roll was .99 cents each, no pickled carrots, fish sauce or anything. Portion is still good, filled with meat and garnishes. The bread, a little over toasted but still a great place to get banh mi in the are.

The veggie tofu bahn mi was excellent. The bread was fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The tofu was marinated, savory and delicious. There was a good amount of vegetable filling - daikon, carrots, cilantro, cucumber and jalapeño. Service was quick and friendly. The place is casual and comfortable. There are a few tables and most people came in and ordered takeout. There were customers also calling in their orders. They have limited hours and I hope they consider opening on weekends (at least on Saturday) so I can enjoy more of their menu. I don't live or work nearby and I happened to have a day off on a weekday.

The service is efficient and friendly. Prices have gone up by a dollar in the last year or so, but still a decent deal for a fresh banh mi sandwich. Worse thing is their short hours, open only for breakfast and lunch. Location is in a strip mall near new Kaiser Permanente hospital. I usually get their combo band mi, no jalapeños.

Such a great sandwich at an unbelievable price ($6). Seriously, I was shocked when I saw the size of the sandwich and knew it had only cost me $6. In today's time, it's hard to find a deal like this. Don't let the atmosphere fool you, this is place is serving up delicious sandwiches at an unbelievable price!!!

Fresh, fresh, fresh! The tofu is actually marinated in a sweet and tangy blend. That, combined with the pickled daikon make up the punch of the flavor. The long-sliced green pepper isn't spicy but actually peppery. Bread is light but filling. Great size for lunch and at this price point. Only thing I missed was some kind of sauce element (like a spicy mayo).

Hands down the best Banh Mi Dac Biet in the area. The pate is so fresh and they aren't stingy with the portions. The meat is stacked, the bread is crispy on the outside but airy on the inside, and the pickled vegetables are crunchy and have the right amount of tanginess. They are also fast and efficient as well! I always order on the phone and it's normally ready by the time I get there.

This place is easily my favorite banh mi spot in San Diego. I came here for a late lunch just right before they closed at three and got a #4 grilled pork. They also had a bbq pork one but I'm not really sure what the difference between the grilled pork and bbq pork is since I thought they were the same. The sandwiches are $7 and they're HUGE! It's bigger than all of the banh mis that I've gotten in San Diego. The pickled vegetables were very fresh and crunchy but on the lighter-picked side (which I really like). They added lots of meat and not too much butter/mayo. The bread was crisp on the outside, but soft and fluffy. It reminds me of the banh mi I'd get in San Jose. There's a ton of parking in the plaza and the service is very quick and friendly. TLDR: delicious sandwiches from a family-owned business

The service keeps getting better and same with the food. I think I've had my 100th banh mi from them today and definitely well be coming back. I highly recommend their #2 with extra pate and extra cilantro. That's my go-to favorite. Service is always friendly and quick, even during the lunch rush. This place deserve much more business and it's honestly my most visited place in SD for lunch. I just wished they were open later or on weekends so I can get extra banh mi for my friends to try.
